I wanted to comment on this poem last week, but it had gone before I had a chance. Had to do some searching. This poem speaks to me about the make-up of each individual person. We are all unique. We are complex. There is no blueprint and thank goodness for that I say. Who wants clones? Like the texture of fire and water. What a contrast. Magma and permafrost, complete opposites and what is it they say about the magnetic attraction of opposites? I like somewhere on a spectrum. This she you write of sounds interesting. Reminds me of our Beth. Now she's a hard one to fathom, but my God is she precious and she needs protecting from herself. Thank you Neville.

People are complex, for sure. Some are both bold and vulnerable at the same time. I love the lines, "Like a lost/flightless bird/desperate/to dance upon air .." Very poetic! I am somewhere on a spectrum too: I took an online test to see where I stood on the autism spectrum (I suspected I'd be fairly high up, and I was right!). Answering the questions as honestly and fairly as I could, my final score showed that there was a STRONG likelihood that I was autistic. This is something that I, and family members have suspected for a long time! I have however, learned to live with the way that I am. It is what it is. Sorry for the acute angle I took when reviewing your poem, Nev, but now you know a little more about me. lol!

I have absolutely no problem with your angle Rob .. the autistic spectrum is of course very broad indeed and I am not ashamed to admit that many of my closest and most successful friends fall somewhere within the glow that it casts upon them .. indeed, I am a firm believer in that one persons golden glow, is another's shadow .. bless ya, go well and dont be a stranger ... Neville :)
This girl is colorful like a broad spectrum, full of emotion and life, yet she can be so shy and socially awkward. This was all before their eyes failed to meet... I wonder what happened once their eyes met? Did the spectrum broaden even more? I thought this was sweetly written about a girl... someone fond about, who doesn't realize the great and cute attributes about herself before this other person who came along started to notice these things.
