A Life Lived Sadly

 

There was never really that much to say about his life, that is ..

In fact, they managed to say everything

in seventeen syllables and three lines, well placed ..

Every one have something to say my dear, even a simple man of a simple life has a story to tell, he deserves it, his life deserves it, someone out there would like to listen to it and will be interested in it. If someone can't speak, it is either they don't want to, or it's something that can't be explained./expressed. if they are unable to speak it, someone will do this for them, aren't writers do this for them? like You did here? even after death stories should be told not just the "three words". I am reminded of my father's wake when after the priest gave his eulogy and asked if anyone had anything to say. No one stood to say a word. It is not a moment I don't regret unfortunately. It is not to say that I didn't love my father. I simply did not have any good memories of him. Your poem really resonated with me my friend.

hhmmm.. I do like your poem.. a sad commentary on a sad like.. but I wonder if perhaps there is more to the story than the narrator may have at his disposal.. I wonder if perhaps it is more neat and tidy than sad and lonely.. I kept wanting to see beyond the closed door.. I just wonder if all the "they's" of the world maybe aren't the last word to be said after all.. I have met too many "sad little" people who lived extraordinary lives that no one would have known of with just a casual glance..
