Why Not Just Call It a Day

Why Not Just Call It a Day

A Poem by Neville

Why Not Just Call It a Day

I don’t want to push my luck and

break this fragile

run of rare good fortune we have

so very much

enjoyed, in recent times, my friend

But I seem to

recall you have betrayed me before

and since I don’t like

ultimations, let’s just call it a day, okay ..

Wow such directness here dear Neville. No mistaking the emotions here.

Betrayal, forgiveness yet now ultimatums. That's how your lines read to me. Ultimatums are the pits, I almost look on them like a form of abuse. Do this or I will stop your pocket money, do this or I will leave you, do this or I am going to do something nasty. That's how ultimatums come across to me. It sounds as though someone has truly touched a nerve here. Sending you some sunshine. You sound as though you need it:)

Sometimes things come to a head, and we have to call it a day! Betrayal is never an easy thing to deal with, especially if it has happened before! Yes, I'm with you on this one, Nev!

I myself have such trust issues and this really speaks to me with its direct commentary. I'm not one to beat around the bush when I feel wronged. It's much better to tell it like it is than hint at disappointment. It gives someone less of an opportunity to be an A hole again towards me. Also saves a lot of grief.
