The olive branch

he once

held out for her

Now lies broken

and discarded ..

Consigned

it seems, to the

margin of an

otherwise empty

page ..

Yet he never

once thought,

even for

the very briefest

of moments

he would regret

quite so much,

ever loving you

and all in spite of her ..

Maybe the olive branch broke before she got a chance to take advantage of the offer. I'd dangle it again if I were you. This poem speaks to me of unsettled business. Sometimes if you want something bad enough, a little persistence helps. When there's two hers involved there are bound to be problems. Where women are concerned, there are often problems. Now that's where I went, but no doubt this poems got nothing at all to do with women because you do like to set your readers up for a challenge. Maybe it's about a brand of porridge :)) Hope you have recovered from the virus Neville.
