Primroses and Kites

Primroses and Kites

Primroses and kites have so much in common these days

both being far more abundant than ever before

and not just confined to their old habitats, but everywhere ..

How I envy those banks on which they now play and grow

Love red kites, there are many sightings where I live. I often see them overhead in my garden, or when we are in the marina. Their shrill whistle is a giveaway. They were once extinct in the UK but I am happy to see them gracing the skies again in increasing numbers. You are a lucky man if you have primroses too and in abundance. We don't have those, but I am thankful for the woodland bluebells in spring which are always an ocean of splendour. I share your love of the natural environment Neville and your observations are welcomed.

I saw my first kite this very year in this neck of the woods, or as I called it a "WTF is that?" Luckily, the person I asked knows these things, replied "that's a kite, dummy!" She wasn't impressed when I said I couldn't see its string! 😊

Kites, the red kind, are now moving into the MK area, their distinctive call now a common sound. Primroses, haven't seen those for many a year, bluebells, daffodils bloom aplenty.
