In So Few Words Gone

I seriously hope

the arrival

of the text I am

about to send

does not disturb

you from

your slumbers ..

But rather,

when you do

come to find it,

in the morning

that is ..

You shall feel

obliged

and otherwise

compelled

to stand before

your great

grandmothers

tall cheval mirror

and read

each word aloud ..

Louder

than a whisper

or indeed

a prayer even ..

Since by then,

I most sincerely

hope, I shall

be well and truly gone

Now I am fascinated by who the owner of a great grandmother’s cheval mirror might be. Now there is gone and gone. There is gone, as in left and living and there is gone as in departed this plane forever. So I pondered on this piece but consider it is all about the memories that will be left. However, it is probably deeper than that. Regardless, it is a fine write Neville and leaves a question mark in its wake.
