this gave me an ear-to-ear smile friend. took me back to university memory: a good friend (so good-looking even guys recognized the heartache he caused just being in a room) ... anyhow, so girl trying to score with him and it was not reciprocated. His put down line, even now, forty years later cracks me up ... (hockey metaphor) you on a two man advantage, but you still can't get the puck past your own blue line
your poem would have fit right in back then

Dear Neville, this little bit of brevity can be read in several ways. You do like to do that don’tcha.
This could be a note to every one of your heart’s possibilities who rejected you (surely not many).
What it does tell me is that whomever these lines were intended for, you certainly wouldn’t have held back. She could have had all of you. Hook, line and sinker.
I would say, that is her loss as well as your own.
Oh yes he is ……….
Your author!s note, now that really is open to many thoughts
I hope you are making the most of our sunny so far, Bank Holiday. Sending you many warm wishes.

Hi Nev. I've been taking a bit of time away from reviewing but I just had to tell you the thought that came into my head with this one....
Jim Bowen on bullseye saying to the losing contestants "look what ya could" ve won! " as two neanderthals in loincloth drag you in a cage onto the show like a caravan or speedboat, but then it turns all blind date and Cilla starts singing. But it's the" look at what you could won" song.
Ahh, I miss the eighties 😊
