Echoes Seldom Lie These Days

 

Hey, whoever would have

guessed ..

When I first slipped off

your dress ..

That we would still be

here together,

even after all these years ..

 

And whoever might have

thought

we would have, as much as

we have left

to play with, at the sharp end

of a very long day ..

 

They all told us not to bother

and to mostly

disbelieve each other, since

quite simply there

could not be a middle way ..

 

So the moral of this story is,

don’t believe

in anything at all, since there

are so few,

universal truths, these days ..

 

Although, there may be one

or two exceptions

for example, echoes seldom lie

and robins eggs are

almost always, some shade of blue ..

Yes, a detective told us that on our wedding day and forty years later we are still hitched and happy. Just goes to show, don’t take too much notice of the doom mongers. On the other hand robin!s eggs are delightfully blue and echoes repeat and that is the truth. A happy poem:)

It is hard to believe almost anything anymore. There was a time when there were those you could be believe, those who told it to you straight, but now a days...not so much. Even if the weatherman says it is raining outside, I still look, no matter how wet the dog is when he comes back in. : )
