I seem to use

autumn

as an excuse

far too often

these days ..

I seem to

blame her

for just about

everything ..

All the reds,

golden browns,

all the smiles

and the frowns ..

I seem to use

autumn

as an excuse

for it all, these days ..

I try not to make excuses as a rule .. but autumn is a golden one ..

Autumn is the most beautiful time of year and yet it is the season of sadness for me. When the falling leaves abandon the tree and leave it exposed to the elements of cruel winter. Autumn may be golden but excuses are a cop out. Neva be afraid of the word sorry. It is such a simple five letter word and yet it’s impact is explosive. Love your poem Neville, it has a universal feel to it. It will be relatable to many.
