Where No Mirrors Are Required

Where No Mirrors Are Required

A Poem by Neville

Where No Mirrors Are Required

The couple, in the corner

were so intent

on each other, they never

even noticed

that the mirrors were there

and she,

to be fair, ate more than her

lover ate ..

While again in the kitchen,

a stove

and a table, though both

heavily laden,

remained otherwise empty,

barren and bare ..

Film set. I’m watching it unfold. He is very hungry for her. He was thinking about delicious desserts (her) and she was picking at her food because she had her mind on other things too, and maybe a bit shy. That kitchen table was empty and wasted:) How’s that for you Neville. Played out in full technicolor. So visual. Felt the anticipation and heat building up here.

I feel certain I have missed something here.
