This poem is a little depressing, honestly, because it hits home for me. I am still young, yet I can't seem to remember things I feel like I should be able to. Its beautiful put. Short and bitter sweet. I like the last, so many other things lost. I often wonder what lost memories are floating around in my head too.

Well now, let's look at the upside of this situation. I just can't forget everything I've ever remembered, including being told to bugger off by women, my drill sergeant telling me if I had brains I'd be dangerous and anything said by Donald Trump.

makes perfect sense to me .. and thanks for the chuckle :)
Neville!
Ha! I lost my short-term memory back in the sixties... I think I left it with my stash in a boot under Joan's bed. I never hear from it when I need to, but those random pricks can be vivid, and a lot of fun.

go on, make me smile sir .. & thanks for stopping by :)
I've been told I have a memory like an elephant, which interpreted means to be able to remember things easily and for a long period of time. I have no idea how an elephant fits into that equation, though! However, I can name all my elementary school teachers, plus my principal, gym teacher, and music teacher, and even what I had for dinner on the third sunday of last month. Lol, ok, maybe I'm not THAT good, but I think you get my drift! Can I call you "Grandpop" yet?

Your words are intriguing and thought-provoking. The way you explore the mysteries of memory and forgetting is both insightful and poetic. Your use of repetition and rhythm is particularly effective, and it helps to create a sense of wonder and introspection in the reader. I think that your writing is a testament to the power of the mind to inspire and challenge us.
