Prophets of War

There are no clean

   

or pretty wars

   

are there darling ..

By definition,

each is ugly, filthy

   

and downright dirty ..

There are no

lessons to be learnt

   

at all from them ..

We have proved that

to ourselves,

time and time again

   my friend ..

There is no point in

choosing sides

or to deny who is to

   f*****g blame ..

There are no victors

or victories to

   

be won in this game ..

   Shame on them,

but there is no point

in pointing

random pointy fingers

in any vague

direction, since each

of us shall be

   

losers in the long run ..

And the only

real profiteers from war

are politicians, rats,

   

flies and other despots ..

Great title with a play on words. War is futile end of. You would think that our species would know that by now. Your final four lines speak the truth. A shorter review today, don’t want to get the soapbox out again. You highlight brilliantly the salient points.
