Uncommon Good Scents

Uncommon Good Scents

A Poem by Neville

Uncommon Good Scents

although I can

no longer smell it on you,

I know it must

still be there, because it

   always lingers so ..

like early morning spring

   mist, lingers ..

suspended like the scent

of so many

wild flowers, in the quiet

stillness of

fresh still, moistened air ..

and though I can

no longer taste you either ..

I know you

  must be somewhere near ..

because I sense

your presence everywhere ..

the way I did,

when you were always here ..

Great word play in this title Neville. That perfume exuded some power. This is a most intoxicating and sensual poem. That lingering and fragrant scent stays in your memory. If you still sense her everywhere, she must have been and continues to be special. There is a lingering scent of sadness here or perhaps acceptance. I feel the love here. Not likely to fade, nor the memory of the perfume. I like this poem very much. Your style of writing I would recognize anywhere. Have a glorious Saturday my friend.

Great to hear from you again Thomas many thank you's kind sir .. Neville
The longing and wording in this poem. I can still sense you near!! That says so much in one line. Energy lingers long after a person has left that space and sometimes our minds still feel that and want that presence when they aren’t there
