Bemused to Death

Bemused to Death

A Poem by Neville
"

this is what happened when my muse went walkabout ..🤍

"

Bemused to Death

In those last three days before

winter kicked in ..

We exchanged a grand total

of fifty-seven words

and eighteen sideways glances ..

But hey, whose counting,

they were nothing but numbers

way back then

and a forced smile, whenever

one might be squeezed in,

  would burn, like perma-frost ..

Boy, did they hurt

and like hell, they sure did ..

I am now, a very poor griever

and can’t wait for

a thaw to begin, I just need to

start writing again ..

"I just need to
start writing again .." are YOU writing about ME ? lol. Hi dear You... Was checking my poems where I saw your new poem at my newfeeds. sentimental and emotional, I would only say don't count the words, words are not numbers, they are flowers to be smelled, starts to be seen and raindrops to be felt.(Good seems I'm writing again thanks to Mr. Neville 😊).

Who is counting indeed! I just shake my head from side to side like an etch a sketch and after a few minutes of that I can't even remember what I just deleted!
And then I pick up a pen and wonder what it's for and why I have so many of them, which invariably leads me to shaking my head and forgetting what it was I was thinking. Life is certainly far simpler but for the life of me I can't remember what I'm doing on a writing site. All clues point to writing, but then something comes along and I etch a sketch it out of existence again.
I reckon I might be thinking I'm in a loop of deja vu, but then the strangest thought appears that I may be in a loop of deja vu... etc etc! 😃

It is just massively scary for me that you ALWAYS write about how I feel at that moment and what I think... Felt deeply related to your poem again. Oh being your muse! Oh walking in your mind! This is so perfectly honest... I feel like we all start writing again, that break is a torture. Loved this one
