when our rings

first clashed

on that three quarter bed

in that

cheap hotel room ..

I know I do

and I seem to recall

it might

well have been Blackpool ..

I remember

the tingle and the shock

of that first

Shazam moment almost

as if it

were yesterday ..

My word,

how quick and intense

was

that guilt trip

we simultaneously forgot ..

Your title here Nev could be the autobiography of my life's title. Well it does seem more verbal than "Huh?"
If it was Blackpool you felt that tingle, I'd go to the docs and get it checked out immediately. After all, that is the place that Frankie Boyle says is the only place you can catch chlamydia from fish and chips! 😃
It is funny though how easy it is to forget most things, but those guilt trips must be made of Teflon or memory foam, because guilt is always the last thing to go! 😃

The last line makes me smile. Especially when young, little can stand in the way of passion. I swear the young me may as well have been a moose in rut. Trees, mountains, stone walls all should stand aside, lest they get knocked down. A little guilt? Ha! I enjoyed this.

Part remembering is far, far better than nothing at all, Neville. Maybe we imaginative hooman beings forget what we don't want to remember just to prove something to selves! Guilt trips are said to be due to wearing the wrong size shoes.. which is why i try to wear bare feet. Also, a slight detour to discover why we behave like that could elucidate (I think or some similar right or wrong word) might help. Your skill with words is as strong as has been for many a year passed by. Many thanks for sharing.
