Well not that I'm an expert on the subject or anything like that, but I do find that over time people do regret doing it, unless it's just a handy way of getting rid of an annoying twat who thinks they're slways right no matter how many times you give them the real reason you blocked them and they still insist on asking friends to ask the me in this situation why me blocked him, then having the front to block them because he didn't like their answer!
But enough about Australians who think their every thought is a poem (well he buddy started it)
I do like your more prosaic way of dealing with it though, as opposed to my "annoying twat", so it is obviously someone worth more (in thought at least) than a "begone you annoying that!"
But as I said, not an expert, which might make more than a few splitter over their coffee and cornflakes when they read it.....Good!

beautiful work Nev!!! we get blocked by people we respected and thought were pals .. seemingly out of nowhere we are now excommunicated for the "....reading me wrong" ... it does hurt ... bewilders and pesters the heart and soul a bit .. everytime we see the face .. or the name .. they become the question mark .. and that's all ... i really like the butterflies in a snow storm .. brilliant my friend .. simply brilliant!

You are way too kind Gene .. thanks for both seeing it my way and for the simultaneous thumbs up 😎👍
the last three lines were amazing. the build up to it also held me captive. it is very sharp writing and i appreciate it deeply.
thematically, it is one so relateable in this day and age. i've been ghosted before, and the pain of that is almost too much to bear. 'So surely, it’s high time for each of us to move forward ..' yes, that's right. well it's not like i have a choice now; and so following it with: 'Nothing at all, really matters now does it,' was very fitting; very well-observed.
i really like this work. it's dark and full of thorns but there is a beautiful rose in these words too.

Thanks a million my friend, so very much appreciated .. Your consideration of my little scribble is priceless .. Neville
Emma,
I am seventy-five years old one less year three or four years less than my grandparents were married. I don't think they ever suffered anything like the loss you describe. I, on the other hand, have been buried under the snow so many times, I've come to terms with this kind of hurt and pain so now we now arm ourselves with little epees rather than the sabres of old. The emotional trauma of loss is no longer my nemesis, but my companion, and proof I have lived.
Oh! And SO well written...
Vol
Any mention of butterflies and I know my heart will either fly or fail. Fine poet that you are, knows which way your words are set, delicately but adamantly, ruthlessly yet regrettably. Seems your snowstorm was yours, unshared, without iota of fragility but - might have been precious if not a puzzle of lost pieces!.

Yes, Neville... held Captive like Butterflies in a Snowstorm... one and all.
Will we fall or fly again. The suspense is unbearable... a Mystery that is not solved. Pat
