We were walking today for our daily constitutional and a lady and her dog were walking toward us from the opposite direction. We smiled, they smiled, and we all walked our trajectories. After making our loop we met up with them again, this time with friendlier, more companionable smiles. I mentioned a few moments later how nice it was for the lady not to be alone in her walk and that I could be the dog in our situation. So she reaches for my collar and I began to woof, she mentions how she loves to see the willows swaying in the breezes that they don’t seem to be crying any longer.

We call that empathy in this neck o the woods .. cheers .. Neville
I like how the plant feels almost like a person, just sitting there with the dog. The poem is calm and a little sad, especially at the end. The last line is clever—it's funny but also makes me think. Maybe the lady is crying for the plant, or maybe for something else. Amazing work, Neville!
... finding the true nature of plants, pets, wives, stairs, French doors, gardens, forests and dishes is a noble quest, mate, and as always I think you'll find the answer lies between the lines🙂🙃😅
... Engaging storyline & phrasing!
