just words ..

At the Very End of It All

At the very end of it,

life that is ..

Not even a blackness

or dark exists ..

No hunger, no feeling,

no pain or desires ..

Oh’ how glorious an

outcome that

thing we all call death

must surely

and truly bequeath us

at the end,

of our very long lives ..

Yet still be aware,

if one can only believe

hard, long or

indeed, deep enough ..

Then between us,

we can make sure it

becomes much

less of an uncertain

destination

and not just be known

as the souls final

resting place or destiny ..

Ah, the feeling.. how beautiful it must be to rest in the warmth of the earth, embraced by its eternal calm.... What a feeling indeed. Death isn’t something to fear, but a peaceful state beyond human pain. Yet, with deep belief and shared understanding, we might shape what death means making it more than an end, and less of a mystery. Your poem conveys a message of hope beyond finality, that that there is glory even in the end. To always have faith. I think, you have a similar taste as me when it comes to writing because I quite enjoy reading your poems... It's totally how I'd write it if i did. I really loved this, truly. Please keep writing. Your words here Neville sound like a comfort blanket for the dying. A lovely warm thought for those lonely or suffering to be released from all the discomforts of living. I imagine many would welcome it with open arms as those might do who have a strong faith. I am still pondering on the ever after myself, wondering, I just hope it’s going to be eternally peaceful when it does eventually come.
