Yamatorige - feathers of a copper pheasant

Yamatorige - feathers of a copper pheasant

A Poem by Neville

Yamatorige - feathers of a copper pheasant

Somewhere high above

the most precariously placed

of snow-capped peaks,

bathed in those long golden

shadows of Fuji ..

She first came into our view

as if in slow motion

and began to carve a series

of near perfect circles,

figure of eights and a single

double helix with just

the tip of outstretched wings ..

I didn’t just see a beautiful bird in flight, I also saw a swordsman carving the mountain air with steel precision. Two scenarios in a magnificent setting, now that’s what I call a bargain Neville. This poem has so much movement in it, some of if it challenging for me because I am terrified of sharp steel but the feathers and softness of a copper pheasant is much more my cup of morning tea. Beautiful poetry my friend. 💜

There’s such a rare stillness in this. Grace traced in the air, each circle like a quiet blessing over the peaks. It feels like watching beauty think. Lovely, Neville.

I think my head was busy thinking of manganese with this one Nev. It even added a back story of vengeful fury to her of being held down and unable to shine or fly when young. Those perfect circles became her marker to warn her persecutors they were about to be her victims.
I can see it all now. Just agree and before you know it, it will be getting released at a cinema near you! I'll even pay for the popcorn! 😃

There’s a quiet precision in this—like grace drawing patterns no hand could ever plan,
You caught something rare there, that moment where motion feels almost like meaning made visible.
