It is such a shame

that we

rarely remember

so many

   

of the little things ..

Which is

why I am making

this list,

 

  for all of you now ..

Just take

these for example,

the smells,

textures and taste

of already

cold ash, from well

spent fires

or the hint of gold

slipped off

   an old oriel’s back,

in wetted

and well warmed

summer

rains so very easily

mistaken

for a brace of small,

   well worn

   

  gold half-sovereigns ..

Each of them,

spun too high into an

unnumbered,

yet deceivingly pure

   cerulean sky ..

Yes, it’s a shame such

   things are forgot ..

There are five million stories in the naked city and this is just one of them, but if you change that to five million smells then at least 204 of them will be pleasant! 😃
