You say potato and I say potata
You say tomato and I say tomata
How about some Ella Fitzgerald?
I say book and he says boook
i say cook and he says coook
No need to call the whole thing off. Ain’t it endearing. Anyone who can call a plain umbrella a parasol gets the thumbs up from me Neville.
Ain’t love grand:) Bound to be tensions now and again.

Umbrellas, camisoles, and clandestine light...your juxtapositions make the everyday feel deliciously offbeat. Life’s little miscommunications never looked so charming.
As for your Author's note: Gentle? Oh no. Your umbrellas and camisoles have already declared war on subtlety. I’m just here to applaud the delightful chaos.

Well aren't I disappointed with your Bigly wording Nev. I thought juxtapositions were only found in the Karma sutra, but after looking up your bigly word I find i am alongside wrong in my thinking.
Maybe that explains why she said i was a cocktail sausage, obviously meaning I was a sacher wurstel! 😀

for me this is a great explanation of a strained relationship but also a critique of currently common trends of long poses and the effort to be chic in image and in wording - perhaps I'm looking for too much - but in any regard enjoyed the read. - glad I came by - carl

Many thanks indeed Carl for checking in .. All Good Things, Neville
You just shared this poem after I'm calling you fav poet... And the title attracted me ofc. I'll be honest I just learned what parasol and camisole means and I am so glad to learn, this made the poem better! I just loved it as always, so smooth and lovely. Just one little opinion, in your poems I think I saw more than a few times you use "making love, we made love" I understand that's so simple and a great way to explain, but I believe you can find more poetic use of making love. But just looking at this poem, and words, and flow it's perfect! Such good, and I think one of my favs, again!

Also I know men simplify making love, so yeah that's probably a man thing! Not you!
