We do seem to be at a crossroads. I blame it on politicians and our education system. Young people need to be reminded of the sacrifices made for their freedom. As long as I have breath in my body, I will remember all those who fought for me and mine. A fine tribute Neville. We must never forget. If we do, then we are headed towards oblivion.

Indeed. It was the title that first drew me into this, if not beautiful but then tragic assembly of words. Yhis is art and it is the art of remembering.

Thanks tons Ken .. Serious seasons best to you & yours .. Neville
We should always honor those who fought for us in all wars; unfortunately, we have a clown governing our country, who is willing to kill his own people... we must protect our soldiers and demand they must obey the rule of law and not listen to conspiracy theories that are being spread all over our country ....he is weak and must be impeached and thrown out of office! Thank you for your tribute; it means a lot to me.....
Warmly, B

thanks for seeing it my way Betty .. in fact, thanks for everything .. Kindest regards and please accept my sincere best wishes for Christmas and the fast approaching New year .. Neville 😎🌟👍
Neville, this poem struck me with its quiet reverence. The Tommies, small and matte-black, juxtaposed against the “spectacular” clouds, create a scene that is both intimate and monumental. I felt the weight of memory in every detail..the crossroads, the grass, the subtle warning embedded in the scene. It’s a moving meditation on sacrifice, honoring the fallen without melodrama, letting the memorial itself speak. Beautifully restrained and deeply felt.

Isn't it amazing that all these years later we must be reminded not to forget Nev?
Seemingly for some with their too busy lives, yet not quite busy enough if there's an insta worthy pic to get them some imaginary likes. Perhaps they just can't handle something not being completely about them.
I mean, how easier could they possibly make it on the eleventh minute of the eleventh hor on the eleventh day of the eleventh month??? & ?
I past Inverness castle early yesterday when they were testing the display lights and it looked incredible, lit up in red and surrounded with a poppy display.
I only mentioned the elevens in case anyone was a bit stumped that Christmas isnt on November 11th!
A very fitting and right write indeed.

Standing at the crossroads you describe, I feel the quiet weight of the world pause. The black Tommies, carved and steadfast, seem to salute not just the fallen, but the living too - reminding us that courage and sacrifice are never forgotten. Your poem holds that stillness, that reverence, like a salute whispered between sky and earth. As a fellow soldier, I carry that echo with me; it’s a reminder that honor is not only in the battles we fight, but in the memory we hold.
