Time does indeed need the viewer, any viewer to quantify its own existence Nev. I mean, what would be the point of entropy without anyone around to notice it and that is the point in a nutshell... its only purpose is to measure the passing of it, as we and all around us decay.
The older or more mature we allegedly get, the more we think about time and the dwindling amount of it we have left.
I don't remember once thinking in youth about how we are hurtling through space, always measuring time, area covered and the possibility that the journey will one day terminate.
The nearest I got to deep thinking was the day after christmas when I was torn that it would be a year minus one day before Santa would be back in our lives...and hoping that he wouldn't be late! 😀
I now wonder how much time we'd have left if not for all those moments added to the tally where we thought about how long we have left.
And on that cheery note, may I take the opperchancity to wish you a happier and healthier 2026.
Plus, don't try overthrowing that there is only 360 shopping days left to christmas! 😀

The start of a brand new year, usually gets people reflecting on what went before. Maybe more so as we age and the hour glass has less sand in the top half. That in itself is awake-up call to live more in the moment. When time is limited, it certainly focuses the attention on what is important and what isn’t. There will always be dark days and there will always be shadows, (apart from the awfulness of world affairs and the current threat to peace) but then again there will also be blue sky mornings and bird song. I know where I would rather linger. Killing time is an interesting poem title. Time is for living, not for killing. I sincerely hope 2026 brings you better health and much happiness Neville. Happy new year to you and those you hold dearest.
