The Preciseness of Your Approximations

 

I thought you should know

I have always been

amazed at the preciseness

   of your approximations ..

I even once thought you were

   a tiny bit special maybe ..

 

But since you seem to wear

your heart on your sleeve,

I shall leave these words

here for you to stumble upon

   sometime later perhaps ..

 

And where for now, they may

at least rest easy and neat

and for always set firm, upon this

magnificently understated

    and otherwise seriously empty page ..

I think this poem requires the reader to c**k their head all the way over to one side to gain understanding... a "precise approximation," is such a lovely way to describe how twenty-first century life has gone so far. A Commie Mayor of New York, Men as Women and visa versa, laughter at murder. Everything is out of whack. I'm glad I haven't died yet, in this rather confusing, Science Fiction novel where we find ourselves.
