Whispers in the Dark

Whispers in the Dark

A Poem by NewGirlDark
"

In the quiet of the night, my thoughts grow darker wings. They fly through silent shadows and return as whispered words.

"
In the quiet of the night,
my thoughts grow darker wings.
They drift through hollow shadows
where silent sorrow sings.
The moon watches in stillness,
as secrets start to speak,
soft echoes of forgotten dreams
that wander through the bleak.
And from the deepest darkness,
where hidden feelings spark,
my soul turns pain to poetry"
a whisper in the dark.

“Why do you write about darkness?”
“Because that’s where the quiet truths live.”
“And it doesn’t scare you?”
“No… sometimes the dark understands me better than the light.”

This short dialogue explores the connection between darkness and introspection. Through just a few lines, it shows how some people find understanding and truth within the shadows. Rather than presenting darkness as something frightening, it reveals it as a place where deep emotions and silent thoughts can exist and transform into inspiration.
