What If?

What If?

A Poem by Ngirai

What if you have all the fame and fortune?
You decide to buy drugs and sell your soul?
What if that’s what you wanted? The answers you think can be solved?

Money can't buy you happiness;
It solves your problems temporarily
And buys you everything you need:
A house, a fancy car, and more.

Can it bring back your health?
It can't restore all your peace
Or mend your imperfect body parts
That you've seen glamorized on TV.

In this world, people are dying,
And money is mere paper, nothing more.
Why choose to live solely for that?

Some let money control their lives,
Chasing fame and endless riches,
Yet they remain blind to the hatred
That saturates the world around them.

I'd rather live in simplicity and poverty
Than be burdened by the weight of wealth,
For true happiness lies beyond gold,
In the intangible riches of the heart.
