Jen

Jen

A Poem by Nick Granger

In the black of her private soul

     she is ageless

Dark drops of knowing spirit

     penetrate the camera's lens

In convention of coffee shop

     her mystery is expressed uncensored

To no one

     in a look

Who can see her?

...Wow, another brilliant piece! Your words flow so beautifully. I enjoy the imagery and your descriptions. Very nicely done!

Perhaps I have failed to convey the true meaning of 'Jen' in this poem. Had you understood it the way I meant it, you would not have written, "I've known a few women like that." There are no other women like this! Perhaps my defensiveness betrays a certain insecurity. Perhaps not. I will endeavor to purify my sentiment in prose. However, what I write is in the moment of inspiration and that will never change.

I've known a few women like that. Very dark. Nicely written.
