On My Mind

This poem is about entering a fresh relationship after so many that seems to be going in the right direction.

Some sort of thrilling yet anxious sensation takes over

When the thought of you enters into my mind.

It’s uncontrollable, unpredictable, delightful,

And definitely something that’s hard to find.

So far you seem to be the perfect fit

Like the cuddly clothes that I wear.

If this is love I’ll give it a chance

Because true love is so rare.

The quality of your presence

Leaves me easily fulfilled.

And you somehow have knocked down

the wall around my heart

That I worked so hard to build.

I’m usually good at taking my feelings and

Expressing them into words

 and I enjoy making you feel the happiness

That someone like you deserves

So, here is a reminder to someone

Who’s one of their kind.

You are that special someone

Who is always on my mind.
