Fools Don't End Up With Roses

Story Idea (updated)! :]

 

You know the movie Fool’s Gold (it just came out), where a divorced couple go on an adventure to find treasure (and they bicker a  lot)?  I want to make a similar story like that, except not where I’m trying to be a copy cat or anything.  It just sounds fun to make a story like theirs, though…

 

 

Izabelle DeGraw and Gavin Hartley have hit rock bottom with their relationship, nothing bringing them together because of distasteful arguments and seeing each other's flaws. So they break up, Izabelle and Gavin thinking that if they stayed as far away from each other as possible, that the ex-couple  wouldn't see each other again. But when irony steps in (Izabelle’s friend setting up a ‘blind date’ to met in Itatly), Izabelle is psyched to get away from her troubled thoughts and memories of her ex-boyfriend, thinking that she’ll be as far away from him as possible. But when she gets to Italy, she realizes that her blind date is the one person she wanted to get away from: Gavin. Izabelle tries to leave, yet Gavin forcefully convinces her to stay with him to find the rare necklace La sangre Subió, which was supposedly worn by a queen back in the 16^th century.  So with the two working with each other to find La sangre Subió, the ex-couple embark on an adventure that’ll take them to great heights, opening their  eyes to a realization that maybe they can be together…but who knows?....

I'm not sure about the title,but what do you think? I want the word fool in the title..

Update: I changed it to Italy because I really really want to go there someday and my pen pal lives there (we don't talk as much,though).

You don't like the title? Hm. I do. How about "Fool's Roses" or "Roses for a Fool" or "Roses of a Fool"... hmmmmmmmmmm........... or "Ningunas Rosas Para el Tonto" ^_^! ("No Roses For the Fool")...I thought it sounded cool...

I ain't seen the movie so I can't comment on that only your idea. It is an intresting concept, fate has a way of bring then together when there trying to be apart. The adventure side reminds me of Jewle in the Nile I think its called...keep going with this I'd like to see where you take it.

Sounds interesting, i wish you luck on the endeavor. There was one line that I had an issue with "thinking that if they stay as far away from each other as possible, they won't see each other".... It's a bit redundant but whatever. I like the title :) I can't wait to read the rest!

It does sound like the movie, although I didn't see it so I can't judge anymore than what I saw in the previews.
It could work, but the dialogue and the character development would have to be quite strong to make it so, I think.

Hmm.. I think it could be a good story. I haven't seen Fool's Gold, but I know what it's about. Make sure you don't copy the movie completely, that won't be fun. Make it your own. =]
