Unaddressed Letter to My loveA Poem by Alice WalkerThis is a poem I wrote for my girlfriend because I wanted her to know how I felt about her, actually this is one of three so far.
Roses stained her cheeks as her beautiful eyes glistened. Oh, how I'd love to shower her with my affection. But I, a lovestruck fool, cannot hope to be graced by her presence, graced by her love.
Beauty is said to be in the eyes of the beholder. If it is then I've seen nothing fairer than that of my sweet flower. If I were not such a child, a love-stricken child, I may have a chance at her heart. Oh, how foolish I am! To want her love for myself and only for myself. I feel hideous as my heart feels similar to that of a Love Eater! But still I wish for her, like a helpless puppy who longs for her master's love, I wish for her. Please forgive me, my love, my sweet darling. Forgive me for falling for you, falling as an angel would for their human love. Oh, how I'd cry tears of such sweet joy to know my love was not unrequited as I believe. Je suis désolé, ma chérie, je suis désolé. Je suis désolé, mais je t'aime tellement. Je t'aimerai toujours, ma belle fleur, toujours. © 2013 Alice WalkerFeatured Review
