Prompt for a contest

I know the consequences now,
But I wish I had known them then.
The heartache would have been spared,
For both you and I.

Easy come, easy go, they say,
Yet I had to take the road less traveled,
And now I have nothing to show but wasted time,
For both you and I.

If I had an eraser,
I'd surely erase those hours,
To give back the time I stole so long ago,
For both you and I.

How we wish, we could erase what has been etched on our memories.. It would have been blissful to have things go our way.. Sadly, life teaches us these lessons the hard way..
