Forgotten - Jane's story

Jane a girl who died and came back in a new body of a girl named lilly remembers her past, but who remembers her?

I woke up in a cold sweat, i saw it again in such detail... my death, i was running from a group of people i was in my 20's in the dream. a girl suddenly cut me off and puts a gun to my head and smirks "night night" she giggled then pulled the trigger. i get a headache every time after that dream. that's how i died, in my past life that is. in this life my name is lilly but i go by my real name, jane. its been 14 years since i died and came back. everything from my time as Jane is so vague but i can remember my friends and my family. has it really been 14 years? do they remember me? 

i got up and got dressed "i might as well go to the library today" i said to myself as i got dressed, i grabbed my book bag and headed to the library. as i walked my mind wandered to my past life. i remember asking one some of my friends to promise me something.i asked them to promise no matter what to never forget me, i wonder if they kept their promise? i walked into the library then checked out a few books. as i walked out i saw someone... they look so... familiar. as they turned a corner i saw their face and i knew, it was Alissa. my best friend in my past life. she was around 35 by now but i needed to know. i ran after her and called out her name. "Alissa!!!" Alissa suddenly stopped and turned to me.

"Who are you?" Alissa asked me "how do you know my name?" 

I cried a bit then smiled at her "dont tell me you forgot about me. does that mean you broke your promise?"

Her eyes widened and she looked at me

"or am i truly forgotten because i died?"

"...Jane...? how are you?" Alissa began questioning 

i smiled again and looked at her. "has 14 years really been to long?"

Alissa looked sadly at me "all i remember is a name and a promise... i'm the only one who remembers anything at all"

I stopped "so no one remembers me? everyone just forgot when i died?"

Alissa looked at me "you died?" she asked

I didn't answer her "no one remembers..." i cried and looked at her "everyone broke their promise"

I never thought it would hurt so much to be forgotten

"please Alissa tell me your joking"

Alissa shook her head and i grabbed her shoulders 

i screamed at her as i shaked her " Tell me you remember! Please say you remember!"

I looked at my hands and what i saw terrified me, they were disintegrating

i heard a voice in my head "you made them promise so you could continue existing, Lilly isn't real, her friends aren't real, her family isn't real and soon you wont be real.

"NO NO NO NO!!!! I DON'T WANT TO DISAPPEAR ALISSA HELP PLEASE!"

she couldn't hear me

"WHY DOES NO ONE REMEMBER ME?!?!"

I cried. it hurt, i was being torn from this world and no one cared, no one even knew. Alissa would forget me and id be completely forgotten. "if a person dies and comes back if her friends and family from both lives remember them then they happily live their lives but if both forget. they cease to exist."

one of my first stories that i kinda did on a whim please give me advice for future stories and recommendations for things to do. dont judge the story too much i was a bit bored

I really liked this story. It was a very interesting idea and a fun little write. The only critique I will give is on the grammar front. Make sure you capitalize I in your story and the first letter of the first word in your sentences. Other than that very small thing, awesome job!
