You are like a Persian Goddess

You are beautiful while being modest

You remember me of an utter love

True love is my problem

I wish to solve

If I were Farhad I wouldn’t rift a mountain

To show my true passion

To dismiss a lustful love

I would tell your tale for fame

Like Majnoon became famous

Because the love for Leili

You are my pantheon

My one and only Shirin

Please make my love immortal

Majnoon and Leili are Arab lovers.
They are the ancestors of Romeo and Juliet.

Wow my friend this is so beautiful and original! We don't need to be anyone but our selves and our love. we don't need to have famous love story to prove how big is our love. We have and create our own stroy that's not less than any other love story. I don't remember hearing before about Farhad and Shirin but I love ancient tales of Gods and Goddesses and Love. Farhad and Shirin were Persian lovers.
Thee story of both of this lovers were written by the Persian poet "Nizami Ganjavi". You can find it on the internet.

Of course I know Majnoon Leili, in school we studied Arabic Poetry of all areas until the New Age Poetry (prose). I should search for Farhad and Shirin story.

The story by Shakespeare of Romeo and Juliet is world famous, so it was interesting to read about the two lovers from Persis and the Arab lovers. I enjoyed the read dear Noma and thank you for sharing.

If Persia could conquer many lands and rule over them till 20th century,surely now Farhad and Shirin were even more famous than Romeo and Juliet! There are two books of poem about these two lovers written by Nizami Ganjavi the classic Persian poet. I suggest you to read the translation of these books.
