these are the literary elemetns and there defenitions.

     Exposistion/introduction- Beginning of story includes characters and setting.

  (a. Characters- protagonist-good guy antagonist- bad guy

  (b. Setting- time- when the storu took place, place- where the story took place, and enviornment- the mood or fellings the author conveys.

 

     Conflict-The problem of the story

   (a. internal- a struggle within ones self, man vs. self

   (b. external- a struggle outside ones self, man vs man, man vs nature, man vs animal.

 

Rising action- The action leading up to the climax.

 

Climax- The highest point in the story

 

Falling action- The action directly after the climax

 

Resolution- The solution to the problem (the ending of the story)

 

Theme- the moral of the story
