this play is based on the song all i want for christmas is peace on earth

Narrorator- This story is set way back in the 1900's in new york city. It is almost christmas time so the streets are alive with color. Our story is set in a small neighborhood where a little girls family is having some hard times.

Scene 1

house

Cally- Oh Voltron you know your not supposed to be up here. (pet dog)

Mom- Get out of my house NOW!!!!!!!!!

Dad- Fine maybe while im gone you'll clean up the mess you call your life!!!!

Mom- and maybe you'll stop doing drugs!!!

Dad- (Slams door)

Cally- (runs down stairs) Mom whats wrong wheres dad going???

Mom- (puts arm around cally's shoulder) Don' worry honey everything will be fine.

Cally- get off of me this is your 3rd fight this week!

Mom- i know, i know but me and your dad are just having some realationship problems.

Cally- No, No this can't be happening (run up stairs)

Nana- (walks in) Hello Peg, Hows Cally

Mom- Oh mom always so cancerned about cally. you know every time you ask the answer is always fine.

Nana- well where is she she usually greets me?

Mom- She up in her room probably listening to that bieber kid.

Nana- Oh well i shall go and see her then (walks up stairs) Knock, knock can i come in?

Cally- Sure

Nana- Whats wrong baby?

Cally- Mom and dad are fighting again i think its for real this time

Nana- Oh baby your mom and dad love each other very much

Cally- they've been fighting for the past 3 days nana i dont think their staying together

Mom- (walks in) Nick filed for a divorce.

scene 2

mainstreet

Cally- I can't believe dad wants a divorce. especially at this time of year.

Molly- I know i'm sorry

Cally- Its not your fault

Molly- I know but i can only imagine how you feel

Cally- I just dont get it what made them all of a sudden wanna get a divorce?

Molly- I guess they just wern't meant for each other

Cally- I suppose my biggest concern is i love them both soooo much

Molly- i loved both my parents too and when my dad died i was heartbroken but i got over it.

Cally- It just, i dont know who i want to stay with

Molly- Thats a tough descision but uhhh hey i got to go see you monday

Cally- i guess toodles

scene 3

house

Nana- how you feeling peg?

Mom- down in the dumps ma

Nana- oh baby you'll find someone new

Mom- unlikely and what about cally this has to be hurting her

Nana- oh i'll take her christmas shoppin she'll be fine

Mom- oh yeah and christmas is coming how on earth will i pay for her gifts?

Nana- i'll help

Mom- no mom you already do enough for this family

Nana- i insist

Mom- no

nana- fine but dont you dare come crying to me when cally is miserable (walks out)

scene 4

cally's room

Cally- (singing) "Girl when i first met you my heart went knock knock no them butterflies in my stimach wont stop stop"

Mom- (knocks) can i come in?

Cally- i suppose

Mom- baby i need you to write your christmas list to "santa"

cally- ok can you leave me alone then?

Mom- of course (leaves)

Cally- dear santa,

i'm not gonna ask you for much this year. Font send me a big fake ring, an expensive toy ccar, or even flowers all i want for christmas is peace on earth. (fall asleep)

2 years later

Mom- so you were really in the army?

Rick- for 8 years

mom- wow impressive

Rick- peg cally does not like me

mom- she just doesn't approve of anyone besides her father

Rick- does she not think i am worthy of you

mom- no its just that she doesn't want anyone to replace her father

Rick- how can i prove i can replace her father

Mom-i don't know
