In Search of Java

This was an exercise for my Poetry Lecture for one of my writing courses. It was actually 4 sentences that I had to revise. I threw them all together to make one poem in the end.

In Search of Java

After what felt
like an eternity
I finally found the on ramp

While driving

I stopped
at my favorite coffee shop

The perfect indulgence
on a cold day
is
a cup of hot coffee
with
cream and sugar

Like a well trained server
in a 4-star restaurant
I balanced
my coffee
scone
and wallet
all the way
back to
the car.

I tried to incorporate some of the advice/suggestions of others (that commented on my last poem) into this piece. Advice, thoughts, improvement suggestions are welcome!

I really like this. It's a cute story turned into a very nicely flowing poem. I think you did a really good job with the flow. So often with free verse it gets all jumbled up, but this was really good. Look what you did, now I'm craving coffee. =) Keep writing!!
