One thing I have learned from a tattoo
is that love hurts

It (love) hurts like the jagged needle
piercing my skin

It rubs my heart raw
like the fresh shading of a tattoo

Like my tattoo
love takes a long time to heal

Once it heals, it is vibrant and beautiful...
