One Less Than Ten

One Less Than Ten

A Poem by Nipplegrinder

She entered the shadows on
that day.
Left some troubles behind,
driving east though,
before west.
A treasured meet with the rogue
whom had stolen her giggles
and laughter and so many smiles
and downcast glances
Though her heart stolen
it plowed beyond her chest.
Each mile closer, the urge to
turn right back around
filled her
as the GPS counted down the miles,
his text, asking how far, now
fueled the anxiety.
"Says, nine minutes away".
Nine minutes.
One less than ten.

Outstanding. GPS, Nine minutes? Indeed: one less than ten. I loved this piece. *bowing*

Makes me wonder where the drive is to And whom is at the other end of the destination. Not sure if the anxiety is a good one or if it is saying go back with red flag warning. Has my mind questioning and thinking.
