The three L's of Life

The three L's of Life

A Poem by Sara
"

I didn't know what to write about and suddenly the letter "L" popped up in my head.

"
Listening.
It can be mesmerizing.
Fascinating even.
Fascinating, because anyone can find their own frequency.
I enjoyed listening to music the most.

Loving.
Supposedly the ultimate feeling.
So vigorous, yet so fragile.
Redeeming and lethal at the same time.
I enjoyed loving you the most.

Losing.
So inevitable.
From car keys to the most essential person in the stratosphere,
the verb stays the same.
I enjoyed losing my mind the most.

It's not easy to choose three L's for life- you've convinced me that in the case of this poem's story, they are Her three L's. Good point about the word 'losing' - it literally can mean so much. I liked the last line a lot!

Your thoughts encompass such a vast landscape of life, Sara... from the gentle and beautiful to the deeply painful... So profound! I loved that you shared a glimpse into your inspiration too... it's wondrous to see what can spark an ocean of words... :)

These are some very important 'L' words and while you bring a personal examination to each of the words you have selected, it allows the reader to think about these words in our own lives. Not many of us can say music is not important and I love the line '...anyone can find their own frequency' - that is so true... and loving and losing is definitely something we can all connect with. Love the format you use, too... nicely-done, Sara

"I enjoyed losing my mind the most."

And what a great feeling losing your mind is. IF only I could remember where I left mine.

This leaves a soft smile of recognition and an emotional taste of "evermore" behind the eyes.

I'm trying
love the structure of this....Listening to music is one of the best things in life, but also listening to the heartbeat of another is so exciting...even though by loving there is a risk of losing....i still have enjoyed losing my mind over another and with another...
