Goodbye to All That

Goodbye to All That

A Poem by Nomenklatura

How did you escape my pleading hand?

Was it something I left unsaid?

Were your feelings in my head?

Were mine more than you could stand?

The dreams and foolishness we planned

both in and out of a stolen bed,

the love we made, although you bled,

were they all just built on sand?

Perhaps they were, but does it matter?

I am lost, but you are gone.

Since you, already, are on your way

to find another's heart to shatter,

I will breathe out and carry on,

for tomorrow is another day

Looks like an Italian sonnet to me. Another good one, Ewan. I think I'm on a quest to find a poem or piece of writing of yours that I don't like!

"Goodbye To All That" is one of the most memorable &, of course, glamours title to work/write 'pon. And, here you've come up with beautiful words. Liked the analogies of love -- misdeed nights -- you go beloved with & well portray your feelings in deepen words. Quiet interesting topic to read, dramatically. Your rhythmic flow's too quiet good at its grip which further makes your poetry worth-reading for sure. Well pen'd. It's a very heartfelt write that has its own shades to be dappled 'pon hearts.
