My Words

My Words

A Poem by NormaZ
"

A poem about losing your voice

"
The day my words
were taken away,
Leaving me breathless,
taking big gulps of air.
Feeling suffocated
some part of me I cannot name,
Yet try to express.

At first I thought this one was metaphorical, but the note indicates an actual, physical loss of the ability to speak. I really cannot say how I would react to such a situation. A certain type of suffocation is certainly understandable. A block is one thing; muteness is something else again.

Dear Norma , when a poet losers her voice, she losers far more. When the words don’t come, they can’t be forced. That’s when patience needs to pay a visit. Your words are relatable and I feel sure they will be to many.
