by moonlight passed

What is this,
argent affection?

twisting an astral
kaleidoscope within
the pale reflection
of empyrean moons
shrouded--wreathed
beyond your
onyx eyes

A lingering promise
of lips, wandering
the recesses between
your hair, your neck
everything prone
to the unspoken
intimate shudder
--my electric caress

The unseen melding
of our ripened flesh
fierce lips--
dragonfruit writhing
these heated phases
we stole,
as Prometheus,
from the lambent light
of your naked skin

Shadows singeing
these hands, captive
to the anointed
contours of your
moon-shorn breast
a silhouette's
eclipsed desire

Like wind within wheat
your memory within
my heart
and the envious tears
of stars,
unable to cry--out
under the panoptic
passing...
passed-summer's
moon

Still have the occasional poem come to mind; but as of late, I have been focusing more on painting. So forgive my incessant neglect of my profile here.

popped in to read some and came across this enchanting, yet sad piece. word choice with you has always intrigued me and this one does not disappoint. Nice heat in here as well.

I had to look up "argent" - thought maybe you meant "ardent" at first, but either works really well here!

The sort of mythic language you use throughout is powerful, very romantic, almost dreamy. The one word that really stood out for me was "electric" - it doesn't seem to fit with the rest of the vocabulary you chose.

Also, not to be nit-picky (but I am a close-reader!), but you used the word "within" twice in the poem. Since poems are so short, repetitions like that stand out awkwardly, unless its the repetition of a word that's meant to be powerful in the piece. Remember to be careful about word choices!

you did a fine painting here of an erotic episode...and you do it with subtle colors, yet this painting is so different from the usual fare of romantic poems...

very different in the imagery and references you employ...
