I crave, I envy

I crave, I envy

A Poem by NymphetamineDame

Observation

"
My breath is warm on my lips as I sigh and exhale
My tired eyes gaze at the trees
The slight wind teases the branches as they sway
My weary eyes look down upon my arms
I trace the purple-like blue veins on my wrist
I take in the softness of my skin

This is a familiar place
One I visit almost everyday
I ponder the future, attempt to stay in the present..
And cringe at the past, while envying my childhood again
I do not know where to go
Frankly, in reality, I should not care

My breath is cold on my lips as I choke and inhale
My glazed eyes crave the life of a tree
The wind moves my hair as it would my branches
My blurry eyes cannot see anything
There would be no need to
I would only focus on the sense of touch

This is a dreadful struggle
One I visit numerous times each day
Sometimes I wish the I could null and void myself
Sometimes I wish I had never existed
I know where I would like to be
Beneath your wing my darling, for eternity.

Thank you so much for the review. :)

Fascinating, heartfelt journey through the mind of the writer. Nice final line that presents that great, final desire.

Well done.
