Autumn Whispers

Autumn Whispers

A Poem by Near
"

Discarded in the trash? How does it feel when you are alone and have no one to tell Who do you speak to when at your lowest?

"
Walking on crowded, lonely sidewalks
dead brown leaves at my feet
Autumn never hit so hard
Trees"
Dark trunks patterned like snakeskin
Wind"
whistling those sweet, haunting melodies
And me"
dark skin, chocolate like my worst ice cream
or my midnight screams
Ravens"white-collared, priests on the street
Preaching under old streetlights
singing through teeth, sharp with bite
I breathe
in
out
I try
With all my might
Praying
Drinking
Thinking
Singing
Sinking
Breathing
Sinking
Breathing
I gasp for air
Still sinking

This is hauntingly beautiful ,feels like autumn wrapped in emotion. The imagery is raw and poetic. I felt every line.
