Confused ColoursA Poem by NearPainting a vivid landscape about grief and loss. All the confusion that comes with the pain of moving from a place of beauty to a place of horror. A different view of a the same beautiful place.
Petals"blue and yellow"quiver as I cry,
while the bright sun burns every piece of us away. Colours shimmer, then fade: Brown bushes shed leaves on dry, tired grass, ants working quietly beneath brittle memories. A few green leaves hang on, as I hang on to you" even as some drift down, surrendering to the wind. The sweet wind flutes a lonely song; colours and memories swirl to its tune. June edges into July, clouds stretched pale and thin. Blue sky presses down, earth blushed pink and ringed with thorns. I hesitate, nowhere safe to step" mambas and cobras lurking, my fear coiling in the undergrowth. Blood drips heavy and dark, tears stain the ground, my eyes burn red" because today, you are gone. © 2025 NearAuthor's Note
