Little Girl

A poem written for my best friend, as well as my little sister.

Dear little girl, why so sad?

The world is yours to take.

A secret lies in every turn

A new life you can make.

 

Begin again and take a chance,

You never know unless you try.

Close your eyes, beat your wings

Take off for the limitless sky.

 

Ignore their harsh and judging ways

They go by what they see.

Stand up tall and follow your heart

Show them what you can be.

Begin again and take a chance.....sounds like this little girl has been hurt or setback in some way but it is encouraging her to go forth and try again. I liked it. Could you have made it longer though to tell more of a story? I thought it was well written and would have liked to see if there was more I could learn about the little girl....why was she sad?

what a beautiful positive message in the form of poetry! I really love this piece. Something every little girl & boy should hear and meditate on. This piece gives you ones the hope that they can do anything that they put their mind & hearts to despite what others may think of them and their abilities.

This is really good. I think that it speaks to being a girl in general. It does sound like the little girl has been hurt(like everyone will be in life at some point) But to me this piece is a push to keep going. Which is greatly appreciated I'm sure. Great write.
