Morgenstern

Morgenstern

A Poem by Endless Rain

I lost my sight in the moonlit glow
The emptiness inside of me;never felt so low
She said she would wait for me at midnight
I've strayed from the path and lost her light
I'm lost within the depths of darkness
I'm a hero but a zero and nothing more or less
I'm just a person searching for my place in time
You asked me if I was doing ok and I said I was fine
I must confess I lied to you in that line

My heart is ripped apart
(No longer a heart)
My pain is all that remains
(I'm burning in flames)

I look but no one is there
(wishing for a smile oh so rare)
I look but you look away
(I'm gone I won't stay)

I don't know where I am going
(I'm starting to falter and it's showing)
I don't know who I am any more
(My feelings are dead and washed ashore)
I cared and I loved but in return I was betrayed
(Forever lost from the path I strayed from)
