After DarkA Poem by OrangeSlice
I like to touch your tattoos in the dark, right before the sun drifts to light.
My heart knows each precise line, every skull chiseled into your back, their empty gray eyes protruding out, breathless and searching. My impulse knows each embedded picture, every rose that plagues the surface of your skin, lacing your bicep in thorns and vines, the beauty, the struggle. Your emerald eyes reflect your fears, that was the moment I realized... I took you in. And with two breaths becoming one, we fell to a deafening silence between the security of our sheets. Committed and bold. I set in with permanent ink. Burned into you. With our fingers laced, 'till death do us part. There will be the stains. © 2014 OrangeSliceAuthor's Note
