"The Sky May Fall" (First part)

"The Sky May Fall" (First part)

A Story by Ovi-Odiete
"

This is a short story that tells a tale of a girl as pretty as the radiance from the sun. A lost tale and a lost soul, searching for something unknown. She was denied and abused, she was lost.

"

Diana was a girl, fairer than the glow
From the moon,
With eyes like Ocean deep
Wanting to see the whole world,
But she never knew that tomorrow
May never come
THE TALE
I was always a lonely girl
Who learnt to pull through the deepest part
Of life alone, I was alone, alone, that’s the word
Alone to face the shadows and ghosts
stalking around at night searching for me,
trailing my footstep
calling me DIANA DIANA
I searched for mama and papa, but
They were never really there and
So, I learnt to depend on me

It was a Wednesday morning, as the sun shines down,
A glorious day I thought, trying to smile for the first time in my life.
I knew there was something good coming to me,
and so with hope and enthusiasm, I ran to mama
mama was sad, crying and sitting still
I tried to make her calm, trying to relinquish her climaxing anger, then she screamed, shouting at me saying
Get lost, you evil child
I hate you
You miserable child
You are the cause of my misery
My pain and agony

Tears started flowing down my eyes as I ran away and tried
To run away from myself
I never understood that mum had been diagnosed with bipolar disorder,
Paranoia and schizophrenia
Oh Mummy, how can I understand those strange voices,
Speaking evil into her head, making her believe that
The whole wide world is against her

Creeping unto my bed, I felt alone, more alone in the dark of the night,
Crying and weeping all night, soaking my pillows with tears
From my pains and anguish
Alone I am, so alone.

Ovi-Odiete: I loved the story: and the title is perfect. The sadness is overflowing and the emotional impact is powerful - this really pulled at my heartstrings; the images of this young girl with no one, but pain. Can't wait to read more; wonderful content and theme! Thanks so very much....Dale

Wow such an intense scenario, true, but intense; and it Very well written. If that's only the opener I am quite interest to see the full fledged story will turn out.

A very sad tale described. You allowed the reader to fall into life with bad news and struggle. A strong ending to a powerful tale.
