The Man Who Lived Behind The WallA Poem by P.H. CarverThere once was a man, Who lived behind a wall, None knew if he were short, fat, or tall. "What are you doing with your life?" I said, "it's such a waste!" "Not really," said he, "I have my own taste." He hid behind his wealth, Not willing to come out, When I called out to him he said, "Do not shout!" The only ones seen, From behind the wall, Were servants he sent, To stock food for fall. He died alone he did, With no one at all, But none shall forget, The man behind the wall. © 2011 P.H.
